Transatlantic
Transatlantic était de passage, lundi le 18 avril, au Palais Montcalm de Québec avec leur troisième date de leur tournée nord-américaine entamée le 15 avril 2022.
Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas le groupe, il a été fondé en 1999, il est composé de : Mike Portnoy (ancien batteur de Dream Theater), Neal Morse (ancien membre de Spock’s Beard), Roine Stolt (membre du groupe The Flower Kings) et Pete Trewavas (membre du groupe Marillion).
Le concert était divisé en deux parties :
La première étant l’interprétation de leur plus récent album, The Absolute Universe. Pour la deuxième partie, nous avons eu droit à deux medleys: The Whirwind et Bridge Across Forever.
Je ne connaissais pas le groupe et j’y allais principalement pour enfin voir Mike Portnoy en concert, c’est un de mes batteurs préféré! Nous avons eu droit à plus de deux heures de musique. Ce fût une agréable découverte et je recommande ce groupe à tous les amateurs de musique progressive. C’est un univers et un spectacle à ne pas manquer!

Transatlantic was on Monday, April 18, at the Palais Montcalm in Quebec City with their third date of their North American tour, which began on April 15, 2022.
For those who don’t know the band, it was founded in 1999 and it’s made up of: Mike Portnoy (former Dream Theater drummer), Neal Morse (former Spock’s Beard member), Roine Stolt (member of The Flower Kings) and Pete Trewavas (member of the Marillion band).
The concert was divided into two parts:
The first being the interpretation of their most recent album, The Absolute Universe. For the second part, we had the chance to hear two medleys: The Whirwind and Bridge Across Forever.
I didn’t know the band and I went there mainly to finally see Mike Portnoy in concert, he’s one of my favorite drummers! It was two hours of pure rock music. It was a pleasant discovery and I recommend this band to all lovers of rock progressive music. It is a universe and a show not to be missed!
