Le groupe de metal Montréalais Ultyma a récemment publié sur le web un EP de trois pièces intitulé «Liberation», ainsi qu’une vidéo officielle pour la pièce titre de ce dernier.
Ultyma est une jeune formation avec du talent et de l’énergie à revendre. Leur musique est percutante et emprunte à des éléments old school dans le secteur thrash metal et incorpore aussi des éléments prog modernes dans l’approche rythmique, en ajoutant a cela des solos de guitare avec du «shred» en masse sous le capot. Il faut souligner la présence de membres tels que Kevin Chartré (de Beyond Creation, Brought by Pain) à la guitare ainsi que Guyot Bégin-Benoit (ayant joué pour ces deux mêmes groupes avec Kevin par le passé) à la batterie, puis Alex Terry (Eternal Judgment, Versus Agora, Voidmask) à la basse. Ces 3 musiciens y sont pour beaucoup dans la solidité du son du band, à cause de leur background prog death ainsi que thrash, combiné au style de Terry O’Brien (de l’hommage a Megadeth Hangar of Deth également avec Kevin par le passé) au chant et a la guitare.
Il est a noter que suite au départ de Guyot pour s’installer à Vancouver, le poste de batteur est comblé par Alexandre Dupras (Unhuman, Teramobil, Samskaras).

Montreal’s metal band Ultyma has recently released a 3 song EP called «Liberation», along with an official video for the title track of the EP.
Ultyma is a young band that has a lot of talent and energy. Their music is strong and has old school elements in the thrash metal field, and also incorporates modern prog elements in the rhythmic approach, also adding shreddy solos on top of that. It is important to mention the presence of members such as Kevin Chartré (Beyond Creation, Brought by Pain) on the guitar and also Guyot Bégin-Benoit (he has played in those same 2 bands in the past with Kevin) on the drums, and Alex Terry (Eternal Judgment, Versus Agora, Voidmask) on the bass. These 3 musicians bring a lot of solid sound to the band because of their prog death and also thrash metal backgrounds, combined to the style of Terry O’Brien (formerly from the Megadeth tribute «Hangar of Deth», also with Kevin) on vocals and guitars.
Also, after Guyot‘s departure to Vancouver, it is Alexandre Dupras (Unhuman, Teramobil, Samskaras) who took over on drum duties.

Le groupe metal de Québec The Outborn a récemment fait paraître une vidéo officielle pour «Gluttony: Mass Disease», la première pièce de leur album « Seven », à paraître au mois de juin. D’ici là, leur EP «Path of Lunacy» est disponible en téléchargement gratuit sur leur page bandcamp.
