Une autre belle fin de semaine qui se termine et une autre semaine de travail qui commence. Pour quoi ne pas prendre cette situation merdique de façon positive et se dire que le répit ne sera que bénéfique pour nos foies et qu’on recommence dans seulement 4 jours? Y’a toujours une manière de bien prendre une situation… ou presque!
Si vous l’avez pas encore lu, voici ma critique de ma soirée de vendredi dernier à la nouvelle salle Noise Isn’t Noise de Québec et aussi la première Capsule Ondes Chocs de 2013, avec Ogmios (Montréal) et Ne Obliviscaris en vedette. Demain, la nouvelle Capsule vous propose en primeur la nouvelle track de Burning The Oppressor, le premier extrait de leur album qui sortira en 2013. Ça bûche! En plus, je m’entretiens avec JeanFeu et JF pour en parler.
- On l’avait déjà entendu en version audio, maintenant on peut aussi le voir ce nouveau ‘single’ de Hatebreed, un nouvel album qui sera disponible le 29 janvier.
- Rob Caggiano, guitariste de Anthrax, a décidé de quitter la formation pour se concentrer sur la production studio. Les deux parties se sépare amicablement.
« I’m extremely proud of my time in Anthrax. Actually, that’s an understatement! We accomplished so many great things together over the years and I shared some of the best times of my life with these guys. As a band, we also weathered quite a few storms along the way. It’s been a wild ride (to say the least) from Day One and I wouldn’t change one single thing about the last 12 years. This is an extremely difficult and emotional decision for me to make but my heart is just steering me in a different direction right now. I’ve always been one to follow my heart in everything that I do and while this might be one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, it feels like the right one for me at this time. Scott, Charlie, Joey, Frankie (and John Bush) will always be part of my family and this decision doesn’t change the way I feel about that in the slightest. I would also like to say thanks to all the amazing fans I’ve met and hung out with worldwide over the years. You guys always were and always will be the reason why I make music! In this day and age, being a musician isn’t always easy -also an understatement- but the fans truly make it worthwhile for me. I hope to see each and every one of you again really soon. The fact that Anthrax is at the top of their game right now and totally ‘out for blood’ after all these years is a testament to this band’s longevity and conviction! I’m truly honored to have been a part of their brilliant legacy. »
- C’est triste que Bleeding Through ait décidé d’arrêter d’exister, mais en même temps, comme ils le disent si bien dans leur déclaration publique (ci-dessous), ils le font sous leurs termes et pour les bonnes raisons. Je n’ai que du respect pour ça.
« Since 1999, we have been blessed to be able to tour the world, record seven records with some great musical minds, tour with amazing bands and people, work with people with character such as management, booking agents and road crew. Most importantly, we made lasting friends from this journey.
« We have been honored to be part of a expanding the musical movement of heavy music and hope to be remembered as a benchmark and pioneer of a specific style of music.
« We have been a band since 1999, and many of us just had life catch up with us in the way of marriages, kids, businesses and other endeavors. We can no longer dedicate what we need to to keep Bleeding Through going.
« Personally, I feel doing this band in a part-time fashion is not what this band is about and and feel like we have always been an all-or-nothing band. With that being said, and because we have established a worldwide following over the last 14 years, we want to give us and those people one more chance to share in this music together. We are setting up farewell tours. Dates will be up and promoted very soon.

- This Or The Apocalypse, un band de metalcore qui est habituellement au-dessus de la moyenne de ce genre musical, vient de sortir son nouveau vidéo. Le vocaliste avait ceci à dire sur le clip:
“Hate the Ones You Love was the first complete track that we knew would end up onDead Years and it helped frame the rest of the album. The lyrics themselves are about how often I find myself mistrusting or even disliking people who remind me of myself, and what it’s like to try and remain trusted to those you love when you can’t accept who you are.
Writing a script around the lyrical themes and acting for the first time seemed risky but the final product really matches what we are trying to do.
Brodsky is an artist, I can’t describe how cool it was working with him. Hope you guys dig it!”

- Le groupe australien Deez Nuts vient de partager une nouvelle track et je dois avouer que dans le style, les boys me surprennent quand même souvent, rien de compliqué, mais oh-combien efficace quand je suis dans le mood pour bouger. Cette compo se retrouvera sur « Bout It » qui sera disponible le 29 mars! Ce que j’ai dit pour décrire Deez Nuts s’applique aussi à un band plus près de chez nous, Comeback Kid pis on s’en tappe juste après le vidéo de Deez Nuts!
- Se décrivant comme pur métal d’Angleterre, Beholder nous offre ce nouvel extrait de « The Order Of Chaos » qui sortira le 1er février…
- Cool ce vidéo de William Shatner qui « roast » Zakk Wylde…
- Là vous allez voir ce vidéo et me demander: « Dave, aurais-tu vraiment passé ce vidéo si les filles auraient pas été aussi délectablement fou******? ». Non, sûrement pas, mais j’aime bien leur beat, elles sont vraiment belles, j’adore le sexe… je suis honnête… et je me gâte! Awoyez, trippez avec moi pis les Butcher Babies!
- Nothnegal c’est juste trop sur la coche. Ça fait quelques mois que j’en écoute et c’est vraiment bon ce death métal mélodique des Îles Maldives…
- Vous voulez du crisse de bon métal canadien? Même MetalSucks l’autre bord de la frontière les pousse à fond: Nylithia! Du maudit bon thrash avec un excellent vocal… wow…
\m/ Nouvelles en Rafale \m/: Le nouvel album de Killswitch Engage sera appelé « Disarm The Dissent » et sortira le 2 avril. Un article particulièrement intéressant sur leur carrière et la vision du band par les fans est offert sur MetalUnderground… On va pouvoir entendre de la nouvelle musique de Phil Anselmo dès demain grâce au deux tracks sur le split avec Warbeast, mais l’album complet arrivera seulement cet été, avec comme The Illegals qui assure le beat derrière lui… Pour ceux que ça intéresse, le nouvel album de Hollywood Undead est en streaming en suivant ce lien… Attila est présentement à l’écriture de leur nouvel album… Behemoth entend passer l’été en Amérique sur la tournée Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival… Cannibal Corpse offrira une version vinyle de « Butchered At Birth » le 19 février pour souligner le 25e anniversaire de cet album classique. Je crois que Martin Carle sera intéressé par cet nouvelle… « »United World Rebellion – Chapter 1 » est le titre de l’album que Skid Row vient de recommencer à enregistrer pour une sortie plus tard cette année. La mauvaise nouvelle là-dedans? Il y aura donc un Chapter 2. Fuck! On veut Sebastian Bach!!!… MetalUnderground nous livre ses « meilleurs recrues » de 2012 dans le métal… The Black Dahlia Murder est présentement en studio avec Eyal Levi au Audiohammer Studios. Très cool comme nouvelle ça…
