- Le groupe de black métal norvégien Ragnarok vient de rendre disponible une nouvelle compo de leur album, « Malediction » qui sortira très bientôt. J’aime!
- Scott Vogel de Terror ne semble pas être un grand fan du band The Ghost Inside selon ce message dévoilé pendant un show lundi dernier:
« It’s a very anti record of bullshit bands like The Ghost Inside that claim they’re hardcore when they don’t even know what hardcore is, get out of my face. Oh yeah, that’s what’s up. We’re not holding back anymore, ya know what I’m saying? »
- On dirait qu’on entre dans une période de bands qui veulent faire des vidéos ‘gore’… c’est au tour de Rwake d’essayer de nous écoeurer, mais ça marche pas avec moi, j’aime ça! Vous avez pu entendre ce band dans ma dernière Capsule Ondes Chocs! Le frontman avait ceci à dire sur le clip:
« Casper came to us about a year ago with this idea. He said he had ‘certain’ subject matter he knew he had to film and that it would fit to our music perfectly. He probably knew no other band in its right mind who would agree to this footage and believe me the original test shootings he sent were way sicker. This fits Rwake perfectly and we are honored to have such an artist like this think of us in the way that it inspires him to make such a beautifully, disturbing short film accompanied to our music. »
- Vous saviez que « Atlas », le nouvel album des australiens Parkway Drive, était disponible pour écoute en entier? Yep! Je le conseille à tous, bon effort du band qui le sort le 30 octobre.
- La photo ci-dessous avait ravivée les rumeurs de possible réunion de Skid Row, mais apparemment que ce n’est pas dans les plans futurs des intéressés:
« Hey, man, I thought those guys looked adorable together; they would have made a cute couple. They ran into each other and took a picture together, and I would have done the same thing. I mean, I spoke to Sebastian earlier this year; there was just no way to take a picture of it. And we talked about something non-band-related. It was cool catching up, and I’m sure it was cool for those guys, too. So it wasn’t any surprise to me, and I also wasn’t surprised about the hype over it and everybody going crazy about the future and all that stuff. »He added, « Hey, man, the future is we’re going in to record some new SKID ROW in November next month, man. With [current SKID ROWsinger] Johnny Solinger, of course. So I don’t have a scoop for you, man. Sorry! [laughs] »
- C’est Mark Hernandez (ci-deesous), un ex-Forbidden, qui sera derrière le drum de Testament en Europe, car Gene Hoglan a déjà d’autres engagements avec Dethklok en amérique du nord.
« The LAMB OF GOD and DETHKLOK U.S. tour had to be canceled andDETHKLOK re-booked some shows, » TESTAMENT said in a statement. « This has caused some conflicts with a few previously scheduledTESTAMENT dates since Gene couldn’t participate in them. Mark Hernandez (pictured below; ex-FORBIDDEN) will be helping us out but he wasn’t available until November 25. So various shows will be staying the same but others may be moved to 2013. »
- Trent Reznor est un homme extrêmement intelligent et c’est pourquoi une petite visite de ce post à The PRP est plus que recommandée, car il y parle de son retour sur un label et aussi de l’industrie de la musique. J’ADORE cette citation, qui n’est pas ce qu’on entend nécessairement ces jours-ci:
“What I think is great right now, is that it is the wild west. As frustrating and worrisome as it can feel to hear that we’re ‘in-between business models’ — which we’ve been hearing for at least ten years now. So, okay, all the old rules go out the window, let’s press reset, let’s look at what assets we have now that one didn’t have before. That’s what the good news is. This is what David Byrne focuses on his book. The stranglehold of distribution, the cost of making records, all of that has changed….
My advice today, to established acts and new-coming acts, is the same advice I’d give to myself: pause for a minute, and really think about ‘what is your goal? where do you see yourself?’ When I was coming up, things weren’t disrupted, and there was a logical progression…. As a 22-year-old kid in Cleveland, it seemed to me that just playing out in bars, hoping someone noticed your band, and then offered you a record contract, while that’s possible, I didn’t know anybody, and didn’t know anybody who knew anybody that that had ever happened to.
The strategy, then, was let’s work on getting a band, and something that means something, music that matters, music that I feel proud of, and a vibe and name and ‘brand’ of this thing, and then try to reach maybe some small labels that had music in the same vein of what I liked. It didn’t work exactly that way, but that type of archetype of a plan led me to focus my energies on the thing that did start, and that fuse got lit, and it wound up happening.
If I were that person today, there’s a hell of a lot of things that didn’t exist then, that exist now. Like, YouTube. Like the ability to self-publish. Like the ability to reach everyone in the world from your bedroom, if they’re interested. And I’d focus my efforts on what seems like a logical way to do that, that maintains integrity. If my goal is to compete with Rihanna on the pop charts, I’d think that requires going through a major label system with a powerful manager. That game….
It all comes down to what is it that you want to do? I think indie self-publishing and do it yourself is great. I will certainly do it again. But it will be in the context of what I feel is right for me.”
Nouvelles en Rafale: C’est aussi toujours une bonne journée quand tu as une nouvelle compo de Aeon à te mettre sous la dent… Evergreen Terrace et Metal Blade ont décidé de se séparer, mais le band confirme que ce n’est pas la fin pour le band et que de grosses nouvelles s’en viennent… C’est maintenant officiel, le nouvel album tant attendu de Holy Grail, « Ride The Void », sera disponible le 22 janvier 2013…
