- J’aime le band hardcore/métal This Is Hell, mais j’aime encore plus ce qui s’est passé sur leur mur facebook, une discussion religieuse qui a terminée avec le prétendu croyant/pratiquant qui a effacé son message, comme par hasard…
Yesterday someone posted on our wall with Christian rhetoric and essentially said we will be thrown into a lake of fire if we do not give in to Jesus’ might. As appealing as fire and defiance is, we combated his dogma with some logic and then with a few wonderful wrestling catch phrases, crowd signs from the 90’s and Major League quotes… he then deleted his post, thus taking all the fun away from a debate. We are often targeted by the dogmatic type but they never stick around, internet or face to face, past the initial response from us that is usually based in logic and prove your point mentality. One more for the good guys!

Though this isn’t the first time that Dr. Mats E. Eriksson, Associate Professor of Paleontology at the Department of Geology at Sweden’s Lund University, has honoured heavy metal in his findings. An avid reader of metal website Braveworlds.com, back in 2006 he coined Kalloprion Kilmisteri, an extinct marine polychaete annelid worm now named after Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister.
Now, Eriksson has honoured another extinct species. A marine worm with some gnarly looking fangs, which will now, and forever, be known as ‘Kingnites diamondi’, of course name checking the great Danish heavy metal band King Diamond. Speaking of the discovery, Eriksson stated that according to Loud Wire “A circa 420 million year old fossil organism was recently discovered from Silurian rocks of Sweden and Estonia,” begins Dr. Eriksson. “It is the remains of a marine worm with jaws. The critter was baptized ‘Kingnites diamondi’ in honour of Danish metal maestro King Diamond.

- The Unguided met en vedette d’anciens membres de Sonic Syndicate et ils ont sorti un album en novembre 2011. Rien de surprenant dans leur musique, mais je sais que plusieurs d’entres vous vont aimer… Leur lineup et dernier vidéo:

- Je n’aime pas le dernier EP de Chelsea Grin, mais la 5e et dernier track est vraiment magique (pour mes goûts à moi), car elle offre un côté différent du band qu’il devrait plus exploité, si je me fis au résultat ci dessous, « Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell »… avec le refrain avec la chorale et le contraste avec le ‘scream’, très intéressant!
- J’aime bien cet éditorial de MetalSucks sur le besoin de rendre le Big Four à un Big Six!
That being said, I really think it’s high time we all just grew the fuck up and added Exodus and Testament to the list and call it The Big Six. That’s still plenty exclusionary, and really, at this point, The Big Four is kind of a bullshit thing that exists solely to sell yarmulkes (and other products), as demonstrated by the mere fact that the only people who seem happy with current Big Four list are members of the Big Four bands. Almost everyone I know says they’d rather go see some variation on The Big Four that includes band X but not band Y anyway, and Megadeth and Slayer practically acknowledged as much when they did a tour with Testament right in the middle of all the B4 concert brouhaha.
