Ça va avoir l’air d’une énormité presqu’inacceptable comme statement, mais j’vais le dire anyway; IN VAIN de Madrid, Espagne, c’est probablement le band de speed power metal aux touches pirates qui est encore dans l’underground qui me fait capoter le plus.
La minute que «The Little Things That Matter» se met à tirer, y’a pas un tata qui est épargné. Les twin guitars se garrochent dans du melodic speed riffing qui semble inépuisable en termes d’originalité et de style franchement décoiffant. Le drumming suit ce pattern complètement rushant en se démenant sans difficulté pour assurer un rythme enivrant et complètement enveloppant. On entend des influences néoclassiques dans la delivery de la basse qui ont une saprée belle touch, et le vocaliste, bien que parfois trop gutsy en essayant d’atteindre des notes vraiment pas évidentes vu les contrastes de tonalités qu’il tâche d’atteindre à tout bout de champ, a une énergie palpitante et prenante et un charisme qui risque de tourner pas mal de têtes. Préparez-vous pour une révélation s’ils finissent par avoir une chance d’avoir plus de visibilité, c’est sûrement un des prochains big name.
Ici, les tounes qui te restent pognées dans la tête vont te faire du bien pour les prochains mois. Cet album a pas besoin d’être parfait pour avoir le don de rester dans ta collection d’essentials. Tu veux un album de bière qui te mets sur le party avec la pertinence oldschool bien huilée de RUNNING WILD meets JUDAS PRIEST? Ben sers-toi, mon ami.

It’s going to sound like an unacceptable enormity but I’ll say it anyway; IN VAIN from Madrid, Spain is probably the speed power metal band with pirate allegeance still in the underground that turns me on the most.
The minute «The Little Things That Matter» starts shooting, there’s nowhere to hide, nowhere to run, noone is spared. The twin guitars burst in melodic speed riffing seems inexhaustible in terms of originality and frankly mind-blowing style. The drumming follows this pattern completely overwhelming without difficulty to ensure an intoxicating rhythm wrapping around us. We hear nice neoclassical influences in the bass delivery, and the vocalist, although sometimes too gutsy by pushing out of the obvious notes considering the contrasted tones he tries to reach at every turn, has a thrilling and captivating energy and charisma that could turn heads. Get ready for a revelation if they end up under the spotlight and attract more visibility, it is surely one of the next big name .
Here the songs that stay in your head will make you feel good for the coming months. This album does not need to be perfect to stay in your collection of essentials. You want a beer album that put you on a party mood with the well-oiled oldschool relevance of RUNNING WILD meets JUDAS PRIEST? Well help yourself, my friend.
