Beau gros dimanche à Montréal avec Marc Légaré et Tim de La Corriveau, où Ondes Chocs couvraient le dévoilement des concurrents pour le concours « Envol Vers Le Heavy MTL 2013 », un projet de Dungeon Works Productions, en collaboration avec Evenko. Un aller-retour qui en a vraiment valu la peine, car on a passé une maudite belle soirée en compagnie de centaines de personnes qui s’étaient déplacées aux Katacombes. Je tiens à remercier chaque personnes qu’on a rencontré lors de cette journée et je vais éviter de nommer des noms, car j’en oublierais beaucoup trop. - Shai Hulud est un band de hardcore/métal de la Floride qui me plaît bien, même si je n’ai pas suivi leur carrière de très près. Voici le premier extrait de leur nouvel album « Reach Beyond The Sun »:
- Body Count vient de signer un deal avec Sumerian Records et la production de l’album se fera au début 2013!!! Malade…
- Finntroll, le band de black/folk metal finlandais, ont annoncé samedi qu’ils étaient en train d’enregistrer le successeur de « Nifelvind » et que la sortie se ferait à la fin mars! Voici ce que le band avait à raconté et aussi un petit quelque chose du dernier opus.
« Combining our trademark sound with even more influences from non- traditional genres in metal music, we have created 11 songs which show you everything we want to offer. And boy, wasn’t that one of the hardest tasks for some time. After all, how do you keep your sound fresh, yet familiar, after 6 albums and 15 years?
« At some point, we were afraid that the songs are not melodic enough. Then we started to fear they became too melodic. Then we let the songs rest for a while and molded them more in a way that the non-melodic stuff got something to hum with, and the cheesy pop songs were arranged more stripped and aggressive. We were confident, yet sometimes scared what will people think of the stuff we’ve been doing so hard. What if they hate it? That would be fine, but if they would hate it because the material was uninspiring, boring and done-to-death, that would be a huge disappointment. So, we kept pushing and tried to keep it fresh all the time, while still having the ‘this has to be Finntroll because no other band sounds this insane’ – grinning going on. »
- Suffocation a révélé les titres de tracks de leur nouvel album, « Pinnacle Of Bedlam », ci-dessous. Le drummer sur cette sortie est Dave Culross qui a joué sur le EP « Despise The Sun » et Mike Smith fait une apparition sur l’album avec une reprise de « Beginning Of Sorrow » qui est apparu sur l’album « Breeding The Spawn ». Weird de voir Smith faire une apparition après sa séparation du band, mais bon, tant mieux! Ça sort le 15 février sur Nuclear Blast!

- Rotten Sound, un band de grind/death metal qui célèbre ses 20 ans en 2013, sortiront « Species At War » et en voici une track!
- It Prevails, band de hardcore mélodique, est entré en studio pour l’enregistrement d’un nouvel album. Le groupe a écrit dans le passé la track « Defenses Down », qui est m’est très cher pour des raisons que je ne dévoilerai pas ici. À chaque fois je perds la boule…
- Mutiny Within revient d’un long break avec son deuxième album le 12 janvier prochain et en voici le premier vidéo/single!
- Krisiun, c’est bête du death métal groovy du Brésil, nous offre un nouveau vidéo! Quelle prestation ils avaient donné au Trois-Rivières Metalfest!
- Cynic a commencé l’enregistrement de leur nouvel effort et Sean, le drummer, avait ceci à déclaré. Ensuite on se tappe du vieux stock!
