Grosse expérience déjà pour EVENLINE, même si au niveau discographique son public était en attente d’un deuxième long effort. C’est désormais chose faite dès le début de cette nouvelle année avec «In Tenebris». Est-ce le disque de la maturité, comme on dit dans le mainstream?
«All Against Me» et «StraitJacket» lancent les hostilités de manière hyper efficace, avec une énergie ne présentant aucune faille et balançant chacune un refrain mélodique très catchy. «Silene Capensis» apporte davantage d’originalité, l’interprétation lors des couplets est surprenante et tranche totalement avec les autres passages du chant clair connus jusqu’ici. Ces derniers pouvant à tout moment voir surgir des vocaux hurlés afin de changer la donne, généralement en alternance, mais parfois aussi avec une légère superposition.
Un des groupes avec qui EVENLINE a déjà partagé l’affiche est particulièrement réputé pour avoir clamé «Cause I’m broken…», ici c’est au tour des «Broken Promises» de faire leur apparition. L’un des titres les plus rageurs rencontrés durant «In Tenebris», aux côtés de celui le suivant justement: «Never There». Surprise pour celles et ceux ne connaissant que peu le quartet, mais que les féru(e)s seront ravi(e)s de retrouver: la reprise de «Deeper Underground» de Jamiroquaï. EVENLINE la jouant déjà en concert, ce n’est pas un hasard de la croiser ici et elle est en plus réussie, grâce à une véritable appropriation de celle-ci dans l’univers du groupe, tout en conservant son essence Funk.
Violent et mélodique à la fois, le style d’EVENLINE évolue et peut désormais aussi capter davantage l’attention des adeptes de sons plus lourds, avec en sus une touche de Funk.

Already boasting a big experience , the French group EVENLINE still had to offer its audience a second full length. This situation is rectified with the release of «In Tenebris». Is this the album of maturity, as they say in the mainstream?
«All Against Me» and «StraitJacket» launch the hostilities in a highly effective way, with energy and each swing in a very catchy melodic refrain. «Silene Capensis» brings more originality, the vocal performance during the verses is surprising and totally contrasts with the other passages of clean vocals heard so far. The latter may at any time see the emergence of screaming vocals in order to change the ambiance, usually alternately, but sometimes also with a slight overlap.
One of the groups with whom EVENLINE has already shared the stage is particularly renowned for having claimed «Cause I’m broken …», here it is the turn of «Broken Promises» to make their appearance. One of the most fierce titles encountered during «In Tenebris», alongside its follower, «Never There». Surprise for those who know little about the quartet, but that the fans will be delighted to find: the cover of Jamiroquai‘s «Deeper Underground». EVENLINE already plays it in concert, it is not by chance it appears here and it is a successful cover, thanks to a real appropriation of the song by the group, while maintaining its Funk essence.
Violent and melodic at the same time, the style of EVENLINE evolves and can now also reach the followers of heavier sounds, with as a bonus, a touch of Funk.
