Salut à tous, c’est encore moi. Je multiplie les écoutes ces temps-ci car ce ne sont pas les nouveautés musicales à écouter qui manquent et j’ai du temps pour me rattraper un peu. Aujourd’hui, Lex m’a envoyé un groupe Russe, LAUFDERZEIT dont le premier album «Zeitapokalypse» est paru via darkTunes. Les gens un peu férus en langues étrangères auront sûrement remarqué que le nom du groupe est allemand bien qu’il soit originaire de Russie. On ne peut rien vous cacher. Effectivement, comme plusieurs d’entre vous le savez peut-être, Rammstein et le «Neue Deutsche Härte» sont très populaires en Russie. Donc, ces jeunes ont décidé de se partir un groupe de Metal Industrial, fortement inspiré par Rammstein. Encore une fois, Lex a misé très juste en m’envoyant ça, car je suis une fan finie de Rammstein.
La formation, fondée en 2014, est composée de Manul, Alex, Alekto Nekto, Gans, Dimyan, Konstantin Brand. Ils se font surnommer les Rammstein russes et de toute évidence, ils sont fortement influencés par ceux-ci. Ils sont toutefois restés dans leur langue natale ce qui donne une sonorité très agréable aux oreilles et, comme l’Allemand pour Rammstein amenait un plus, le Russe pour LAUFDERZEIT fait pareil. Entrons maintenant dans ma vision de l’album.
L’album commence très doucement avec une introduction tranquille, «Das Erwachen der Zeit». C’est certainement leur introduction de spectacle. On enchaine avec «Zeitnot» et je suis entrainée par la musicalité très semblable à un mélange de «Asche zu Asche» et «Laichzeit» de Rammstein.
La pièce suivante, «Guard of Heaven» garde toujours un son très proche de Rammstein mais cette fois-ci, on entendait plus la présence des synthétiseurs et ça m’a plus fait penser au groupe théâtral et burlesque OOPHM!.
Pour «Sky is Melting», je n’ai pas vraiment eu de difficulté à retrouver la pièce «Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen» de Rammstein. Heureusement, ce n’est pas une copie conforme et ce n’est qu’une influence musicale.
Je suis déjà à la moitié de l’album et je suis sous le charme. «Hell For Two», une magnifique balade commence. La guitare solo est très présente, mais ce n’est pas désagréable. J’entends enfin la magnifique voix du chanteur. Je ne sais pas si c’est un chanteur d’opéra, mais il a une magnifique voix puissante.
On repart avec une chanson plus rythmée, «Wolf Pack». Enfin je sors du son très Rammstein et je découvre le groupe. J’entends moins les similitudes musicales et j’aime ça. Dans cette pièce. on entend des bruits de loups dans le bridge qui accompagne les riffs de guitare à merveille.
Malheureusement, pour les pièces, «Execute Me», «Fallen Angels», «One More Day» et «Zeitapocalypse», on retombe un peu dans le même cliché du départ. J’arrive déjà à la dernière pièce, en fait je devrais dire la pièce bonus. Pour un album de onze pièces, il passe trop vite. «Give me a sign» a été mon coup de cœur personnel. Elle n’a rien à voir avec le son de Rammstein. La pièce contient beaucoup d’éléments musicaux synthétisés accompagnés de riffs de guitare lourds.
Je trouve cela un peu dommage que l’album reste généralement si près du son de Rammstein car se sont des musiciens talentueux qui peuvent trouver leur son à eux, tout en conservant le titre de «Rammstein russe». Le chanteur à une voix magnifique. Il peut rejoindre les vocaux de style Dark Wave à la Sister of Mercy et même le fabuleux immortel, mais bien mort Christopher Lee avec une voix plus opératique. Il a vraiment plus de talent vocal que Till Lindemann. D’habitude je n’aime pas vraiment les groupes qui copient comme celui-ci mais ici je dois avouer que si j’oublie que Rammstein est passé par là avant, «Zeitapokalypse» est un excellent album. Par contre, je leur souhaite d’être plus que les «Rammstein» de Saint-Pétersbourg. Je comprends que ce genre est très populaire en Russie et qu’il cherche à se nourrir à cette source mais ils sont bourrés de talent et ils le gaspillent en restant dans les traces de leur influence.

Hi all, it’s me again. I listened to many albums lately trying to catch up a little with all the stuff piling on my work table. Today, I will talk about a Russian band, LAUFDERZEIT whose first album «Zeitapokalypse» was released via darkTunes. People who are somewhat fond of foreign languages will surely have noticed that the group’s name is German although it is originally from Russia. Nothing can be hidden from you. Indeed, as many of you may know, Rammstein and the «Neue Deutsche Härte» are very popular in Russia. So these young people decided to create a group of Industrial Metal, strongly inspired by Rammstein. Again, Lex hit the target by sending me this because I’m a finished fan of Rammstein.
The formation, founded in 2014, is composed of Manul, Alex, Alekto Nekto, Gans, Dimyan, Konstantin Brand. They are nicknamed the «Russian Rammstein» and obviously they are strongly influenced by them. They remained in their native language, which gives a very pleasant sound to the ears and, as the German for Rammstein brought a plus, the Russian for LAUFDERZEIT does the same.
The album begins smoothly with a quiet introduction, «Das Erwachen der Zeit». This must definitely be their live show introduction. «Zeitnot» follows and I’m carried by a music very similar to a mixture of Rammstein‘s «Asche zu Asche» and «Laichzeit».
The following song, «Guard of Heaven» keeps a sound very close to Rammstein but this time, I heard more synthesizers and it made me think more of the theatrical and burlesque group OOPHM!.
For «Sky is Melting», I did not really have any trouble relating it to «Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen» from Rammstein. Fortunately, this is not a true copy and it is only a musical influence.
I’m already half the album and I’m under the spell. «Hell For Two», a beautiful ballad begins. The guitar is very present, but it is not unpleasant. At last I hear the beautiful voice of the singer. I do not know if he’s an opera singer, but he has a wonderful, powerful voice.
It restart with a more rhythmic song, «Wolf Pack». Finally it leaves the sound very Rammstein-ish and I discover the group. I hear less musical similarities and I like that. In this song, I hear the sound of wolves in the bridge that accompanies the guitar riffs perfectly.
Unfortunately, for the songs «Execute Me«, «Fallen Angels», «One More Day» and «Zeitapocalypse», they fall back a little in the same cliché heard from the start. I’m already at the last song, actually I should say the bonus song. For an album of eleven tracks, it really goes by too quickly. «Give Me a Sign» is my personal favorite. It has nothing to do with the sound of Rammstein. The song contains many synthesized musical elements accompanied by heavy guitar riffs.
I find it a bit unfortunate that the album remains so close to the sound of Rammstein because there are talented musicians and should find their own sound while retaining the title of «Russian Rammstein». The singer has a magnificent voice. He can use Dark Wave-style vocals like Sister of Mercy and even the fabulous immortal but dead Christopher Lee with a more operatic voice. He really has more vocal talent than Till Lindemann. Usually I do not really like bands that copy like this one but here I must admit that if I forget that Rammstein was in these paths before them, «Zeitapokalypse» is an excellent album. On the other hand, I wish them to be more than the St. Petersburg’s «Rammstein». I understand that this genre is very popular in Russia and that LAUFDERZEIT feeds itself from this source but they are stuffed of talent and I would say they waste it by remaining in the tracks of their main influence.
