Je suis à 24h de partir à Montréal pour un autre weekend complètement débile et cette fois je traîne Marc Légaré de La Corriveau avec moi pour perdre la tête. Grâce au merveilleu deal de mon ami Yann, nous serons logé dans une méga suite à l’Embassy Suites du centre-ville et nous visiterons:
- Studios Silver Wings, invitation de Jeff! Thanks man!
- Le Bar Les Katacombes pour le show de notre ami Lex, qui produit Derelict!
- Le Café Chaos avec le lancement de l’incroyable album de Kälter, « Ubuntu ».
- Le Café Chaos encore pour Behind The Revolver et compagnie.
- Longueuil où j’animerai le show de Beheading Of A King entre chaques bands avec des prix à gagner et ben des niaiseries!
- Le Piranha pour le show de Green Jelly et Fallstaf!!
- Les Foufounes Électriques… ben parce qu’on est à Montréal et on ne passe jamais à côté de cet icône sans y entrer et y lever le coude quelques heures!
Non, ça sera pas beau en fin de semaine, mais c’est aussi la beauté de la chose. Vous voulez venir nous rejoindre, boire ensemble, juste jaser quelques minutes, anything? MAIS C’EST PAS TOUT!! Samedi verra ondeschocs.com devenir complètement fou avec l’excellent band Under Aspect, qui nous ont donné le mandat de lancer leur nouveau vidéo en exclusivité mondiale, « What Does It Mean? »!!! Le même ‘single’ sera lancé dans la nouvelle Capsule Ondes Chocs qui sortira la même journée ET une excellente discussion avec David Lessard, le chanteur, pourra être entendue dans cette même émission. C’est fou là!!
- God Seed, le projet de black métal norvégien avec King et Gaahl de Gorgoroth, vient de sortir un premier vidéo pour leur album « I Begin » sorti le 30 octobre dernier. Vraiment pas mauvais…
- Lord est un band de métal mélodique d’Australie et ce nouveau vidéo est cool… ça ‘shred’!!! Les boys ont l’air d’avoir du fun en le faisant et c’est tout ce qui compte \m/

- Voici les raison pourquoi James Malone de Arsis n’a pas participé à une des tournées de son propre band l’année dernière:
HardRockRVA: What was the skinny on stepping down from the Arsis tour anyway? Were you having second thoughts about continuing the band or did you have other priorities?
James: I know it came as a shock to a lot of people that I would not be participating in the tour, but the fact is that I informed the band and record label two months before the tour was to start that I saddly could not do it. It wasn’t as if I just didn’t show up to rehearsal or something. Basically, the tour offer came to us in February 2011 and we agreed although the tour was not to take place until October 2011. In March of that year, I started working full time (at a hair salon), for the first time in years and was qualifying for health insurance in September 2011. This would’ve been the first time I had health insurance since we recorded ”A Celebration Of Guilt” when I was in college. I have been very public about some of my personal issues that have caused problems for me/us professionally, so the idea of having health insurance, if even for a short time, to get some of these things under control was VERY appealing. Unfortunately, this meant sitting out a tour, letting down my band, our fans, booking agent, promoters etc. It literally broke my heart, but it was necessary for the run. I am a better person now, and have been able to focus for the first time in years and give my all to Arsis again. I am glad the guys pulled it together and did the tour without me. While I was depressed about the whole thing, I was proud to know they were out there kicking ass and doing the right thing. I regret not being able to do so.

- Demonica, un groupe de thrash métal qui réunit des membres de Mercyful Fate (Hank Shermann) et Forbidden/Spiralarms, a choisi Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, EXODUS,TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN) pour enregistrer les drums de leur deuxième album! Voici ce qu’ils nous réservaient sur leur premier effort:
- Le monde est rendu fou ciboire; un homme a essayé de vendre le permis de conduire de Slash a un ‘pawn shop’ pour 50 000$, mais le proprio lui en offrait que 1 000$ finalement… lisez ça:
Asked how he got his hands on Slash‘s ID, the man, who is only identified by his first name, Travis, said, « A good buddy of mine actually had it years ago. He got it from his girlfriend, who was a bartender, and she ended up being there serving these guys all long long. And the whole group were trying to get her to flash for ’em. So she did, she flashed one, and he threw it on the bar. I took it when I was about 18 and used it for my fake ID until I was 21. »Travis, who came to the store in the middle of the night, wanted $50,000 and shop employee Austin « Chumlee » Russell said he would call in 44-year-old pawn shop owner Rick Harrison. Harrison, who only offered $1,000 for the license, called $50,000 an « insane » price. « If [Slash‘s] driver license was worth 50 grand, I guarantee you he would be losing his license once a month and showing up at DMV, ‘Ah, sorry, guys, I lost it again,' » Rick said. « ‘Cause he would be selling that many. »

- Nero Di Marte est un band de métal expérimental d’Italie et ils viennent de signer avec Prosthetics Records. Voici un ‘teaser’ de leur album éponyme qui sortira au printemps 2013!
- Je trip ben raide sur la mentalité de Scion A/V qui offre pleins de EP gratuit en download (et aussi copie physique dans les shows…) et ils sortiront « Lepers Caress » de Arsis mardi prochain en suivant ce lien!! En attendant leur prochain LP, « Unwelcome »…
- Portal, le band d’extrême métal d’Australie, sortira son nouvel album, « Vexovoid », le 19 février prochain!
- A Pale Horse Named Death, un band de hard rock/gothique avec des ex-membres de Type O Negative et Life Of Agony, est en préparation pour l’enregistrement de leur 2e album. Je vous offre une track de leur premier opus. Les propos du chanteur sur ce à quoi s’attendre de ce nouvel album:
“The sound has evolved and become a bit more orchestrated. More harmony work has been done on this album, including new elements such as a Hammond B3 organ and piano. To me the album has an even darker sound and feel than the first one.
The new album is a natural progression in song writing and vocals yet keeping continuity with the first album musically and artistically. Fans of our first album will find all the traits they love melded with even bigger production and mastering. Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound will be mastering the album.”
Nouvelles en Rafale: Thaurorod, le band de power metal de Finlande, entre en studio dans les prochains jours pour travailler sur leur nouvel album prévu pour une sortie au début 2013. Ce sera le premier album avec le nouveau chanteur Andi Kravljaca… « Skeletons & Majesties Live » est le titre du double album live de Gamma Ray qui sortira le 4 décembre en CD, Blu-Ray et DVD… Bon aperçu des ventes d’albums dans le monde métal la semaine dernière dans cet article de Metalsucks… L’ancienne chanteuse de Nightwish, Tarja Turunen, est maintenant maman pour la première fois… Le band Enforcer a signé un deal avec Nuclear Blast et leur nouvel album sortira le 1er février 2013… Soulfly sera à Montréal au Théâtre Corona le 9 mars 2013 pour le « Max Cavalera Tour »!! Les bands de premières parties annoncées jusqu’à maintenant: Incite et Lody Kong. Ce dernier est le band de Zyon Cavalera, fils de Max, le même qui fera les drums de Soulfly durant la tournée!… Jungle Rot va sortir son nouvel album le 19 mars sur Victory Records…
